Recycling Trash!

Trash. Something very unpleasant. It dirties our lands. It pollutes our rivers. And falsely handling them causes other terrible, life threatening effects.

What? You agree? Why of course you do!

We have to stop pollution. To do so, we have to start from us youngsters here.

There are many, many people throwing garbage like it's the most normal thing to do on the planet (which what is actually happening, we're starting to consider littering normal) which is actually not.

Though we're just students, we can surely take a part by reducing litter, at least, and by reusing old items.

What can you do in a:

CANTEEN

If your canteen's the type which serves take away in styrofoam plates/bowls, that's bad news for the environment. Most canteens serve foods which aren't so watery, so paper wrap would do for food. It's much easier to process organic waste than inorganic waste. And if you want to cut it up a notch, bring your own lunchbox and tell the canteen lady to stuff your purchases in it if you like buying food instead of bringing packed lunch. XD

Also. If you pack food, pack a no-waste lunch. They're food which won't leave much leftovers to throw away to prevent littering, and to minimalize the amount of waste which piles up.

CLASS

One thing for sure. We use up paper. Lots of paper. A whole lot of paper. And sometimes, we throw them away. If you aren't going to reuse or recycle them, which is the most obvious choice, just dump them in the organic waste bin instead of throwing them on the ground.

Or if your class is full of artistic people, dump the paper on them (as long as you haven't doodled much on it) especially if it's blank, it's precious to them! (I myself am kind of artistic, and the smallest wad of paper makes my day)

And you can even start a eco-friendly project where waste paper/carton/etc is used to make these beauties to pretty up your classroom view! Imagine the amount of paper you've thrown away! You could have made your classroom much more beautiful with creativity.

ANY HALLWAY/CLASSROOM

Try have your school install separate bins for organic and non organic waste, if you haven't already :D Though it doesn't minimalize trash, it helps with the recycling.

ART SESSION IN SCHOOL

Try give your teacher ideas, like to use recycled products more often in your projects. They are much more fun, and you won't have to stick to boring old paper. The results could be something you could take home and keep and be proud of.

An EXCELLENT example is this guy who reused PIZZA BOXES by turning them into LAPTOP STANDS! Save your money buying plastic ones which you'll throw away later!

A plus is you can paint on pizza box covers to make them much cooler.

See those four boxes? Yes, those are pizza boxes. PIZZA BOXES. I KID YOU NOT. Cheap, eco-friendly, sophisticated looking and will surely amaze your arts teacher so much, she might put one up on the school wall (XD maybe)

See, there are a lot of things we can do, but we've never thought of. If we open our minds a bit, we can surely do a total 180 and tackle littering problems and make some change.

So which -dere are you?

HEY GUYS. Have you ever heard of the '-dere's?

It's like, a collection of words commonly used to describe the nature of how characters in anime react when in love. Let me show you several of the most common.

Tsundere- Tsundere is derived from the word Tsun Tsun which means to be violent and Dere Dere, meaning loving. Basically, tsunderes are people who, when they fall in love, tries their best to hide it by insulting the one the love often and pretending to be mad. However, once they are accepted by the one they love, they can show their love in a rather bashful manner (still with the insults, though)

Yandere- Yanderes are scary. They are the superpossesive types. The ones who would kill you (literally) if they caught you cheating.

Himedere- Hime comes from Ohime which means Princess. So a girl who is a Himedere would expect you to treat her like a princess XD

Kuudere- The shy one. Sometimes socially awkward, but a warm and cheerful person once you get to know her.

Dandere- The deathly silent type, unshakably loyal. They never speak unless needed. A Dandere would protect their lover at all costs.

Kamidere- It's like Himedere, but the male version. Kami-sama is how you would call a Prince. They act princelike all the time.

Deredere- The absolute lover. A male deredere loves like a brother, a female would love like a mother.

Yangire- Close to Yandere. They are the innocent ones, non-stalker, but could go really crazy for random reasons.

Undere- When an Undere character is not used properly, they become the MOST. BORING. CHARACTER. EVER. WHY? Because they agree to basically everything anyone says.

Now, after reading the '-dere' personalities, which one do you think you are? I myself am a Dandere XD deathly silent at first, seemingly ignorant, but I love my friends XD

FAQ:

'Why does everything end with a -dere?' why of course! Dere dere itself means loving, so I guess we could say '-dere' is some sort of classifier for these things.

Can a character be two kinds of '-dere's at once? Well yes. But at times, it could be confusing.

Which dere am I?! I don't know T.T Well don't fear! Just google 'Which dere are you quiz' (exactly like that) and you'd find tons of nice quizzes to try XD

No more questions! Okay, bye bye! XD

--END OF FAQ--

Thanks for reading! Bye~!

A story

Heya guys! So, today I'm gonna post a short story. It's titled, 'The Zoo'.

THE ZOO

One day, at a zoo, there was a new attraction. The zookeepers had gotten a new cub which was orphaned in the wild. Its cage was put beside an old lion's cage. The old lion just sat around sleeping the entire day.

“Lions ought not to behave like that!” the young lion said to himself, so he roared at all the visitors and tried to break the bars of the den.

At three o’clock a man brought a big piece of meat and put it in the old lion’s den. Then, he put a bag of nuts and two bananas in the young lion’s den.

The young lion was very surprised. “I don’t understand this.” He said to the old lion. “I behave like a real lion, while you lie there and do nothing and look what happens!”

Right at that moment, a pair of near sighted women passed by. As usual, the cub roared squeakily and trashed around in the cage. Then, one of the women said,

"Look at how terrible the guards are! Putting a poor little monkey in a cage beside a ferocious big lion! It looks terrified!"

That's all for now guys. By the way, it's gonna be Easter in a few days right? So I'm gonna say Happy Easter to all you guys who celebrate out there in advance, and Happy Holidays~

Heya guys! So here's another English task I have to do. I have to make a layout of a story... Orientation, complication, resolution, yep. I actually wanted to search for a Japanese story, but my internet was down so I couldn't be too picky...

...Either way. The story I'll use is titled 'The Wolf and the Crane', a fable by Aesop.

THE WOLF AND THE CRANE

•             Orientation :
- Who : A wolf, a crane.
- Where : A forest.
- When : Presumably afternoon.

•             Complication :
What happened one day?
-One day, a wolf was eating his meal, and a bone got stuck in his throat.

•             Resolution :
What happened then?
-A crane passed by. The wolf said he would give anything to have the painful bone removed.

•             Complication :
And then?
-The crane was doubtful that he would make it alive.

•             Resolution :
What happened next?
– The wolf promised to not hurt the crane.

•             Complication :
-The crane warily took the bone, but he had to put his head in the wolf's mouth to do that.

•             Resolution :
What happened then ?
-The wolf was happy, but denied the crane his reward.

•             Complication :
Then ?
– The crane demanded the wolf give the promised reward.

•             Re-orientation :
What the end of the story ?
-The wolf told the crane that the reward was the wolf's kindness- he did not chop the crane's head off!

I used to like this story so much as a kid. I had a picture book of it, and I would read it all the time. By the way, why are cranes used very often in fables? O.o

Oh and actually, I wanted to choose another Russian folklore, but it was much longer... And rather gory. Either way, if you are interested in reading the story in more detail, it has been written wonderfully in this site, wonderfully, I tell you, WONDERFULLY:

~*DISCLAIMER*~
'The Wolf and the Crane' belongs to Aesop, and the image above was taken from [LINK] and in no way I am claiming them as my own nor using them for commercial purpose.

An Anime- GINGA DENSETSU WEED (Silver Fang Legend: Weed)

So hey readers, I hope you guys remember that is blog is originally an english project of mine. Thea teacher doesn't usually specify what to write, but this time, yeah, she did O.o (Hi Ma'am!)

I'm supposed to plan a draft of a classic/modern fable, examples listed: Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, Sponge Bob... And they are nowhere near the real deal of this site: Anime. And I GOT IT; modern fables are allowed, and fables are stories about animals, so here I go for an animal anime search XDDD

And after (actually, literally 23 minutes) a few minutes of searching, I found this:

GINGA DENSETSU WEED (Silver Fang Legend: Weed)

So. Here goes the draft. XD

It is about a dog named Weed (yeah Japanese people and their names...). He is the son of Gin, the great leader of Ohu, leader of the dogs of Ohu to victory in a fight against monstrous bear Akakabuto in the Japanese Alps, ancient Japan.

Weed, the main protagonist, suddenly found that his father was gone, searching for his mate. He then went to search for his father in the Ou Mountains. He became the protector of Ou and its soldiers from danger and threats.

Then came the great Dane Brothers, Hogen and Genba, who plan to create an army and overthrow Gin. When Gin and his close friends John and Akame are found by Hōgen and his troops, Akame escapes to alert Ōu, while Gin, John, and Hiro (a dog loyal to Gin) are taken as hostages. John escapes, but is killed while acting as a diversion for Hiro. Akame locates Weed and explains the situation, prompting him to search for dogs to join Ōu's army. Gin escapes and starts recruiting soldiers. Hōgen, alone after having to mercy kill Genba, launches his attack on Ōu. Weed clashes with Hōgen and is injured, but spirits of dead Ōu soldiers appear to give him strength. Weed defeats Hōgen but chooses not to kill him. Hōgen stumbles away and is found by Shōji Sudou, a policeman whose partner was killed by Genba and Hōgen. Shōji shoots and kills Hōgen.

Later, Weed encounters a dog named Yukimura, and learns that a group of monkeys have been terrorizing the area. Leading them is Shōgun, a vicious baboon that feeds on young monkeys and puppies. Shōgun had previously attacked Yukimura and his family, permanently damaging his adopted father Saheiji. Weed, his comrades, Yukimura, and several rebellious monkeys attack Shōgun and his followers. Yukimura is able to injure Shōgun enough to ensure his death, but dies in the process. Saheiji reveals that Yukimura was Weed's brother: Sakura, too sick to care for all of her children, had given two of her puppies to Saheiji to raise as foster sons.

While Jerome is in Hokkaido, he is captured by a Russian German Shepherd named Victor, who aims to conquer the island. Jerome escapes and alerts Hakurō, a former Ōu soldier who resides in Hokkaidō. Hakurō and several of his sons are attacked and killed by Victor's forces. Gin and Weed go to Hokkaidō, but are unable to defeat Victor's troops. Jerome rejoins the Ōu soldiers with Lydia and Maxim, two subordinates of Victor. Angry at Maxim's betrayal, Victor orders a friend of Maxim, Alam, to kill him. Alam feels an intense regret for following orders, but later learns that Maxim survived. Alam decides to drown Victor by dragging him underwater and entangling him in seaweed. With Victor gone, Lydia chooses to stay with Jerome while Maxim and his remaining subordinates swim back to Russia.

While traveling, Weed meets his other brother, Joe. Joe dislikes Gin for leaving Sakura unattended in the Alps. He is unaware that Sakura had left Ōu under the false impression that Gin was dead, and that Gin had been unaware of Sakura's leaving. Joe explains that a large hybrid bear has attacked and killed his mate, Hitomi. Weed's group joins Joe to defeat the animal. During the battle, GB dies saving Weed, and Weed vows to avenge him. Weed knocks himself and the bear into a river. The bear dies after hitting a floodgate and Weed manages to survive. He returns to Ōu and learns that his mate, Koyuki, is pregnant. Weeks later, she gives birth to four pups. LIfe in Ohu slowly returns to normal.

The ending is happy, but not without tragedy.

That is all about the anime. Thanks for reading.

Do you know what you're watching?

Anyone who's here on this site, I am sure, came here because of interest in manga. Either watching it, or reading it. But do you know your manga?

In all movies, you have types, or genres of movies. You have horror, thriller, action, romance, adventure, and all the like. Japanese people also divide their movies into different genres of course. They also have many different kinds of terms, one popular example is Otaku, but I would save it for a later post. Right now, I would want to delve into the most common genres in Japanese stories, be it for manga or anime. If you are an avid manga/anime reader/watcher then these terms/genres/words would at LEAST seem familiar to you. If they don't, then go on, have a read :D

JAPANESE GENRES

One thing you all should know. Japanese people are very detailed with genres. Like, for example, we have the genre 'Romance'. What comes into mind once you see that word? A love story between a boy and a girl? Is it from the girls' point of view, or the boy's? Or could it not even be between a boy and a girl? Japanese people are pretty specific at times. They do not just simply title a love story 'Romance'. They specify it further to attract certain audiences. But as you know, Japanese people tend to include many mature topics, so I'll just describe some which are fit for anyone to read.

SHONEN (Sometimes spelled SHOUNEN)

Now these types of stories are aimed primarily towards the male audience. It contains elements which would attract most boys- but Shonen stories are not exclusive to males only. These kinds of stories usually contain heroics, action/fighting scenes, adventures, and things fit for a grown up to watch, like violence, and for mature audiences, romance bordering on things fit only for certain age groups, but of course, not all Shonen stories are so. An example is Naruto, which contains quite a number for Shonen elements with its action and heroics, fit for all-age consumption.

SHOUJO

If Shonen was directed towards the male audience, here we have Shoujo, which are stories directed towards the female audience. Unlike Shonen, Shoujo would of course have many 'Kawaii' (cute) elements, lots of romance and friendship, and much better character development. Though what I said for Shonen stories go the same for Shoujo stories, they are not exclusively for young girls to enjoy. An example of a very Shoujo story is Sailor Moon. Just look at the picture I've provided. One look at the characters, and you'd agree it's something that only girls would normally watch.

HAREM

This looks more like a sub for the Shonen genre, for the most part. Harem here means a story involving few, or even just a single male main character, with many female characters, which are usually depicted being attracted to the male character. It's viewer rating is usually around PG-13, so it very often has romances which young girls would usually love to watch. An example of this is the R+-rated anime, 'Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai', but frankly, in our own country, it might not be something people would turn a good eye to, as the anime utilizes rather 'good looking'- if you know what I mean- girls to attract young men.

SEINEN

This is quite an uncommon term, because people usually (and accidentally) substitute this genre with Shonen, though they are rather different. Seinen means 'young man', and target young adult males usually from ages 18-25. In Seinen stories, Gakuen (meaning school, in this case, University life) themes are often used, as well as stories of young people in the working world. The story lines typically deal with adulthood issues, with rather mature and realistic points of view. I myself am not too particularly interested in them, so I have no examples.

JOSEI

If young men have Seinen, young women have Josei, which is the female equivalent to Seinen, targeting young women from ages 18-30. In here, the difference between Shoujo and Josei are much more prevalent, as the romances are no longer 'puppy love' romances or 'lovestruck' scenes. The romances are more realistic, and less idealized. The women are also more mature, and often less emotional compared to Shoujo with their lovestruck teens. The storytelling is also more explicit and mature. I'm not too particularly interested in them as well, so I have no examples.

MECHA

In Mecha stories, the works of it usually concentrate on all kinds of mech, or machines. For those who don't know, no, they are not one of those Science Facts kind of movies majority of people find boring to watch. Mecha stories mostly star humanoid machines, either as main characters, or as major key characters in the game. An excellent example of this, as all boys know, is Gundam, and even the old Astroboy anime.

KODOMO

So, everything you've read above are mostly what you would identify as stories fit for teens and older people to watch. Is that all? Oh no it isn't! Kodomo is the Japanese word for Children. And yeah, you can guess, these stories are aimed for kids. They usually teach morals and certain traits and behaviour for children. I would not try research far and wide for an example of Kodomo stories because they are pretty rare, and besides, there is one example, rather old, yes, but I'm sure everyone has ever heard of Doraemon.

That's all about the genres I'm going to talk about for now. I hope you enjoyed reading it, and I hope you found several things you might have not known previously. I didn't even know there's a real genre specified for mechs (slang for machines) before I started my research previously for the benefit of this website. Well, that is all for now. So long, readers, domo arigatou~

NOTE: Sorry for the lack of pictures guys... I don't know what's wrong with my file, computer, or internet. Or maybe with the three of them. Every time I upload the picture, it becomes extremely distorted to the point that you totally couldn't identify what it is, but it appears normally in my computer. I'm sorry. Once I get down to the problem, I'll post the drawings. For now, this upload is for my English task. Well, enjoy I guess. Hope you readers can understand, even without the pictures.

So hey guys! In the previous post I've given a tutorial on how to draw a face base, but we're not done yet. If you're reading this now but you haven't seen the previous post, go see it. This post is a continuation of it.

So now we're getting to the part everyone likes. Drawing the eyes, nose, and mouth!! Well, not exactly drawing them yet. The elements of the face has many, many variations, each taking up an entire tutorial on its own. What we're learning now is the basic placement of the eyes, nose, and mouth on a mainstream manga style drawing :D

...As for the ears, neck, and hair, we can get to that later. I don't want to make the post too long. So either way, let's get on with the tutorial XDDD

So surely, if you have read the previous post (if you still haven't read it by this point, go read it now, GO) you'll still remember this picture

[pic]

And if you followed the next simple steps in the previous post already it should already look like this

[pic]

Now, let's get to the main part. Look at the circle. There is a vertical line dividing the circle into two parts, no? Let's n`me the left Area 1 and the right Area 2. Now, what you have to do, is with lines as thin as possible, try cut Area 1 and 2 precisely in half, vertically. That's where you'll draw the eyes. the upper eyelid is located exactly above the horizontal line which cuts the circle in the middle. It should look a little something like this:

[pic]

Then, you may draw the nose, which is located right on the border of the lower half of the circle, right where the horizontal and main vertical line intersect.

As for the mouth, draw another thin-as-possible line cutting the area below the circle. Then draw a tiny horizontal slightly curvy line for the mouth. The length is from the vertical cutting Area 1 to the one cutting Area 2. Now the drawing should look like this:

[pic]

That's all I guess. Now you've made a basic face!! Doesn't matter if it looks bad, remember guys, practice makes perfect!! :D For now, adios~
